It’s cold outside and this hearty chili recipe using Oak Manor products will warm you up!

Here is what you need

  • 2lbs of Ground Meat ( I like Bison, so rich in nutrients and flavor)
  • 1 and ½ Cup  Oak Manor Organic Red Kidney Beans (Soaked and Boiled)
  • 2 Red Onions Chopped
  • 3 Tablespoons of Minced Garlic
  • 1 796 ml can of crushed tomatoes
  • 1 540 ml can of diced tomatoes (sub fresh diced if you have them)
  • 1 Small Can Chipotles in Adobo Sauce, chopped. With  the liquid.
  • 1 Tablespoons Chili Powder ( more for spicer)
  • 1 Tablespoons Cumin
  • Salt and Pepper to Taste

Instructions

Prepare the Oak Manor Organic Kidney Beans

  • Rinse Beans
  • Let them soak in water overnight (8-12 Hours)
  • Boil until cooked through to desired texture (10-20 mins)
Prepare the Chili
  • Heat a large dutch oven on the stove
  • Add olive oil or desired cooking oil
  • Saute the onions, garlic, chipotles until onions are soft (10 mins)
  • In a separate skillet cook your ground meat, once cooked through, add to your dutch oven.
  • Add cooked Oak Manor Organic kidney beans
  • Add Tomatoes
  • Add Seasoning
  • Mix everything together - Add a bit of water or beef broth if you need more liquid
Cook the Chili

We like to cook our Chili on our Pellet Grill to add some nice smokey flavor. We run our grill at 250 Degrees and let it cook for 6-8 Hours to let the flavors come together, stirring every hour ideally. Follow the same method in the oven 250 Degrees for 6-8 Hours. You can also do this in a crockpot.

Enjoy

When the chili is done, serve it up in a bowl with some sour cream and shredded cheddar cheese! It also pairs well with the Corn Muffin recipe on our website!
