White Hamburger Bun Recipe
Summer barbecues are on the way and a homemade burger bun can make them even better! Add this easy bun recipe to your arsenal!
Here is what you need!
¼ Cup Warm Organic Milk (3.25 %) (105-115 f)
1 Cup Warm Water (105-115f)
2 Tablespoons Oak Manor Organic Cane Sugar
1 Tablespoon instant (rapid-rise) Yeast
1 ½ teaspoons kosher salt
1 Farm Fresh Egg
3 ½ Cups Oak Manor Organic White Bread Flour
2 Tablespoons Unsalted Organic Butter at room temperature
For Egg Wash
1 Farm Fresh Egg
1 Tablespoon Organic Milk
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
- Combine the warm milk, warm water, yeast and the sugar in the bowl of a stand mixer, stir to combine and let sit for 5 minutes
- Add the egg and salt to the bowl. Combine on low speed
- Add the flour and mix on low speed until combined, mixing in the pieces of butter
- With the dough hook knead the dough for 7-8 minutes. The dough will be soft and a little sticky
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface, knead with your hands and form a dough ball. Cut the dough into 8- 3oz balls. Place on prepared baking sheet
- Cover the dough balls with a clean kitchen towel and let rest for 45 minutes. They will rise almost double.
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
- Make the egg wash by combining the egg and milk. Brush the buns with the mixture
- Bake for 13-15 minutes, until tops are nice and golden brown
- Brush with melted butter
- Let cool on a baking rack.
